The Department of Statistics & Data Science (SDS) is proud to announce our Fall 2024 semester Master’s program graduates: Chongwen Yu, Jiayue Sun, and Sizhe Zhang!

Of her time at WashU, Chongwen shared “... the professors and students have been very kind and supportive, creating a rich and inspiring environment. I will always cherish the memories I left here.”

Jiayue also shared her thoughts, “[This] has been an incredible journey, filled with challenges and growth. During my time here, I’ve gained not only academic knowledge but also valuable life experiences that have shaped who I am today. As I move forward, I’m excited to apply the skills I’ve developed in a professional setting, particularly in product management and data-driven decision-making. Looking back, I’m deeply grateful for the supportive community and inspiring peers who made this experience so memorable. WashU will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Sizhe too shared his experience, “Being a part of the SDS community is most important for my first degree completed in the US. I had warm experiences and great activities with my classmates and professors. I am most grateful for their kindness and support, [and] the vibrant WashU community. Having served as the graduate student assistant for the A&S school, I am proud that I have been able to assist in student activities and help those in need. In 2025, I will be serving as TA at WashU for one semester before continuing my study in statistics. I will be pursuing a PhD degree.”

SDS sends our sincerest congratulations and well wishes as these incredible scholars take their next steps, both at WashU and beyond!
