On April 23, 2025, the Department of Statistics and Data Science hosted an awards and recognition ceremony to commend some of our top Junior and Senior undergraduate students. This marked our first annual SDS Awards Ceremony, and we look forward to many more in the future.
The event was chaired by José E. Figueroa-López (Associate Chair), Jimin Ding and Joe Guiness (Co-Directors of Undergraduate Studies). Also present were Xuming He (Chair), several graduate students, and faculty advisors who came to show their support.
The Junior Academic Excellence Award was presented to the following students: Riley Herron, Jimin Lee, Zhuoyu (Peter) Peng, Xiao (Mike) Tan, and Brian Wei. The Senior Academic Excellence Award was presented to the following students: Thomas Li, Thomas Mueller, Vedul Palavajjhala, and Yizhuo (Leah) Qin.
We also recognized our Senior students who achieved Academic Distinctions. These students will be honored at our upcoming Commencement Ceremony on Monday, May 12th, 2025.
The Department of Statistics and Data Science would like to thank the students, faculty, and staff who have made these awards possible. These students have excelled during their time at WashU- in their coursework and/or their service, throughout their studies.
